Frequently Asked Questions
How long does waxing last? Waxing typically lasts between 3 to 6 weeks, depending on your hair growth cycle, the area being waxed, and how regularly you wax. With consistent appointments, hair tends to grow back finer and more slowly over time.
Does waxing hurt? Waxing can cause some discomfort, especially during your first few sessions. However, the sensation is usually brief and becomes more tolerable with regular treatments. Our experienced therapists at Soho Osteopathy Clinic aim to make your session as quick and comfortable as possible.
How should I prepare for my waxing appointment? For best results, let your hair grow to about a quarter of an inch (roughly the length of a grain of rice). Avoid exfoliating or applying lotions on the day of your appointment, and wear loose-fitting clothing. If you’re concerned about discomfort, you can take a mild pain reliever about 30 minutes before your session.
Can I get a facial after a waxing treatment? It's best to wait at least 24–48 hours after waxing before getting a facial, especially if the waxing was done on your face. This allows the skin to calm down and reduces the risk of irritation or sensitivity from facial products.
What happens if I have sensitive skin or allergies? If you have sensitive skin or known allergies, please let us know before your appointment. We use high-quality, gentle waxes suitable for sensitive skin and can perform a patch test if needed. Our therapists will tailor the treatment to minimise any reaction and ensure your comfort and safety.
